About TREAT

Treating the HCV, HIV, and SUD Syndemic

The Treat Program (Training, Response, Education, Access, Treatment) is a one-day, interactive medical education training designed for clinicians interested in expanding their capacity to treat hepatitis C, HIV, and substance use disorders (SUD).

Whether you're new to hepatitis C treatment or looking to strengthen your knowledge of HIV pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) and syndemic care, this training provides practical, immediately applicable guidance to support your clinical practice.

Upcoming Trainings

TREAT is a one-day training program, and we will have in-person, virtual, and hybrid options for attendees to join and learn with us. Stay tuned for future 2027 training dates.

In-person events take place at the Fairbanks School of Public Health, located in the Health Sciences building at Indiana University, Indianapolis. All trainings will run approximately 8:00 am - 5:00 pm EST.

Continuing Education Units (CEUs)

No-cost CEUs are available for physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and physician assistants.

Sample Agenda

Throughout the day, participants will receive practical instruction on diagnosing and managing hepatitis C, understanding HIV prevention and care considerations, and integrating person-centered SUD care strategies into clinical practice. Training includes expert-led presentations, case-based learning, and opportunities for discussion with faculty experienced in viral hepatitis and infectious disease care.

Audience

This training is ideal for primary care providers, advanced practice providers, and clinicians seeking to expand access to high-quality viral hepatitis and HIV care in their communities.

Non-clinical health professionals are also warmly welcomed to attend.

Note: Individuals who previously participated in IN-HAMP are welcome to attend the full-day training or the afternoon PrEP- and SUD-focused sessions.
