Plamena is a PhD student in Biostatistics at the Indiana University Richard M. Fairbanks School of Public Health and a Public & Population Health Informatics Fellow at Regenstrief Institute. Her research focuses on applying biostatistical and health data science methods to address complex public health and clinical questions, with particular interests in organ donation, health outcomes, and healthcare decision-making. Her recent work examines how the timing and context of organ donation requests—including circumstances of death and donor clinical condition—shape family authorization decisions.
